| 授業のねらい・到達目標 | This course is designed to consolidate and enhance abilities acquired in the first semester. The ultimate objective is to write a graduate-level research essay. |
| 授業の方法 | Building on the skills studied and practiced in the first semester, the second semester will focus more on textual studies of fiction. Reading, interpreting and criticizing fictional texts calls upon different rhetorical strategies and goals. We will discuss and practice an approach to literary analysis that assumes that reading and writing are not separate modes of textual consumption, but rather are modes of textual response that can be located on a continuum. At the end of the semester, students will give a presentation based on their final essay. |
