授業のねらい・到達目標 | This course is designed to give graduate students more advanced training and practice in reading, interpreting and criticizing texts of various genres. It is meant to lay the foundations for writing research papers in English. |
授業の方法 | The first part of the course will concentrate on the fundamentals of academic argument. With those fundamentals in place, we will then move on to analyzing and constructing arguments through extensive reading, summary and paraphrase writing, and thesis-centered responses. There will be challenging reading and writing homework assignments each week; therefore, only highly motivated students should take this course. |
